Documentation Risk Specialist II

Primarily responsible for analyzing commitments for new, renewed and amended credit transactions for complex loan types in order to determine the documentation required to establish a legally binding contract with the borrower, secure a perfected lien against all intended collateral, and comply with policies and regulations. Review documentation for closed and funded loans to ensure the required documentation has been obtained and track exceptions found. Advises lending staff of documentation issues and ensures proper approval of commitments.

Collaboration is the key to success with this fast-paced team. While each person holds an area of expertise, we all lean in to support the customer. Through weekly meetings, group huddles, and 1x1 peer training, everyone is given the opportunity to brainstorm, ask questions, and find solutions. We support and lift one another up to achieve more together. The team always jumps in to complete loans promptly and can pick up on any loan where another team member leaves off.

You'll analyze loan worksheets for proposed new loan transactions, determine all necessary documentation required for each transaction and establish a comprehensive closing checklist. You'll ensure proper approval of loans and adherence to policies; enters all follow-ups and exceptions into the tracking system with appropriate tickler dates through our Collateral Management System. You'll prepare or audit complex loans, ensuring proper notes, security agreements, loan agreements, mortgages, disclosures, resolutions, etc., as required for execution at loan closing. Relationship building will be critical for success, and you'll establish solid working relationships with vendors and internal departments to keep the loans going in a timely manner, while resolving any outstanding issues. You'll keep vendors accountable by deadline, place orders, and manage reporting, while sending messages to vendors reminding them if they are overdue.

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through a Bachelor's Degree in Business 2-3 years of related experience in Commercial Lending, Collateral or Loan Operations or equivalent combination of education and experience.
