Before and After School Leader - Peakview Elementary School
Job Summary : Assist the program director to plan and implement the child care program. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Assists director and / or assistant director to prepare and implement quality programming.
Responsibilities
- Follows and enforces all Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements.
- Works directly and actively supervises and engages with students during times they are present in the program.
- Exhibits excellent communication with parents, students, school staff, district staff and co-workers.
- Maintains safe conditions for all students and staff.
- Promotes and markets the program for before and after care and full days.
- Attend and participate in professional development trainings as required by licensing and district.
- Assists to implement quality lesson plans for every day the program is in operation. May assist in creating lesson plans.
- Assists with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment and supplies.
- Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, projects and program quality.
- Creates and implements activities and field trips for full day programming.
- Attend monthly program staff meetings as required by director.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications
Criminal background check and fingerprinting requiredThe Before and After School Leader must be age 18 or overA Leader must demonstrate ability to work with children, and must have completed at least one (1) of the following qualifications :a. Must have at least three (3) months (455 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children over the ages of four (4) who are not related to the individual; or
b. A current early childhood professional credential level I one (1) or higher in version 3.0 as determined by the Department based on its Early Childhood Professional Credential 3.0 WorksheetEach year, June 1 through May 31, the leader must complete at least 15 clock hours of trainingKnowledge of most aspects of childcareAbility to develop and utilize appropriate discipline proceduresSome leadership and management skillAbility to make appropriate decisions and to solve problems effectivelyExcellent written and oral communication skillsCurrent CPR / First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 daysPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions
