Job Summary : The Librarian I (Web Services) is responsible for creating and maintaining library web sites and applications, assisting with upgrades and enhancements of online systems, assisting other library staff with creating accessible online content, and creating and troubleshooting integrations between various 3rd party library software products. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with web development experience and a passion for libraries to make a meaningful impact through innovative, user-focused digital services.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains accessible public and staff websites using local files and scripts and 3rd party content management systems.
• Trains and assists library staff with development and maintenance of web content. Consults with staff on special projects as requested.
• Develops and maintains solutions to support faculty and student activities such as online journal publishing, research data management, and web exhibits.
• Evaluates library online interfaces for usability and WCAG accessibility standards compliance.
• Monitors developments in the field by participating in professional organizations and training opportunities; keeps other library staff informed of important technology issues; suggests enhancements to other library services as appropriate.
• Assists library staff with creating and troubleshooting integrations between various library software.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
