JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse Transport is responsible for the safe and timely transport of patients to and from healthcare facilities, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety throughout the journey. Duties include operating the ambulance, assisting with patient transfers, maintaining vehicle readiness, and completing all required documentation. They will also help in the Emergency Department as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Indiana driver’s license (Class C or as required), a clean driving record, and current first aid and CPR certification. Previous experience in patient transport or ambulance driving is preferred. Physical ability to lift and assist patients, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to compassionate care are essential. REQUIREMENTS :

Knowledge-
Education-
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the state of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
Must have successfully completed American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac life Support, and Pediatric Advanced life Support
Valid Indiana driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle
Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVOC) or equivalent training to drive
TNCC preferred
Experience-
A minimum of 1 years of Emergency Medical Services experience preferred
Minimum 1 years of experience driving similar vehicles (ambulance, van, or other large vehicles) is preferred
Authority and Accountability
Extensive exposure to confidential information or matters
Frequent contact with various persons or groups within and outside of the hospital including employees, healthcare personnel, physicians, patients, volunteers, visitors and outside agency personnel
Must be able to work with and communicate with different types of people
Adhere to local or contract-specific requirements, such as background checks or additional training
Demonstrates ability to complete applicable competencies
Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills necessary to interact with various health care personnel, law enforcement, fire personnel and bystander
