Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer with at least one year of pediatric and adult cardiac sonography experience and ARDMS or CCI certification.
Responsibilities
Position based in an echocardiography department serving both Austin and Albert Lea locationsCovers comprehensive cardiac sonography including transesophageal and stress echocardiogramsInvolves working with a patient population ranging from neonate to geriatricSchedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, with potential outreach and flexible coverage between sitesOn-call requirements include 24-hour availability with a 30-minute response time and expectations of evening, weekend, and holiday coverageEPIC charting system is usedResponsible for performing comprehensive echocardiographic studies independently and assisting with interpretation of findingsWill participate in training, orientation, and education for trainees, students, and visitors in Cardiovascular ServicesMust demonstrate flexibility in learning new equipment, imaging specialties, and proceduresAdherence to sterile procedures and isolation precautions expectedFrequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and reaching above shoulder level requiredHoliday and weekend coverage required as neededCOVID vaccination and booster are mandatoryAssignment is limited to one calendar year with a mandatory 30-60 day break before returning to another assignmentRequirements
Current ARDMS-Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or CCI-Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification requiredBLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross requiredMinimum of 1 year experience in adult and pediatric cardiac sonography including experience with transesophageal and stress echoAssociates degree or graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited sonography program requiredKnowledge of cardiac pathophysiology, diagnostic, and patient care procedures requiredMust have experience collaborating with healthcare professionals and working independentlyExperience with outreach services is helpfulMust have an active license if applicable—no pending licenses acceptedExperience with EPIC EMR requiredBenefits
