Overview
Established welder or mechanic, with a strong background in mining and aggregate equipment maintenance, willing to cross-train into our other trades. Able to conduct moderately complex tasks with limited supervision. Primary function of this position is working on and maintaining mineral processing equipment such as crushers, mills, and various plant work for our mineral processing customers. This individual must demonstrate a strong commitment to L&H values and safety processes. Out-of-town travel is required. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair cone, gyratory, and jaw crushers, as well as ball, rod, and SAG mills, including bearings, shafts, hydraulics, and structural components. You will perform welding and structural repairs on processing equipment, including frame rebuilds, liner replacements, and hard facing wear components.
Responsibilities
- Crusher & Mill Maintenance & Repair – Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair cone, gyratory, and jaw crushers, as well as ball, rod, and SAG mills, including bearings, shafts, hydraulics, and structural components.
- Welding & Fabrication – Perform welding and structural repairs on processing equipment, including frame rebuilds, liner replacements, and hard facing wear components.
- Field Service & Customer Support – Work directly at mine and quarry sites to maintain and repair equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Component Rebuilds – Overhaul crusher assemblies, mill components, and critical drive systems such as gearboxes, eccentric shafts, bushings, and tramp release systems.
- Technical Reporting – Document service work, create maintenance reports, and communicate findings with customers and internal teams.
- Safety & Compliance – Follow all safety protocols, industry regulations, and customer site requirements.

18 years or olderSafety OrientedAbility to work as a teamMaintain high regard for qualityPositive attitudeAble to communicate with customers and L&H managementAt least 5 years of experience as a millwright, field mechanic, or heavy equipment technician in mining, aggregates, or heavy industry.Hands-on experience with cone, gyratory, and jaw crushers, as well as ball, rod, and SAG mills and their hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.Proficiency in stick, MIG, and arc welding with experience in hard facing, mill shell repair, and structural welding.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals; experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and computerized maintenance systems.Familiarity with gear-driven applications, including mill drive systems.Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative in the field.Valid driver's license and ability to travel to mine and quarry sites as needed.Other Required Qualifications
