- Minimum of 1-3 years inpatient rehab or acute experience preferred. Recent graduates who have applied for the licensure examination may be considered for provisional appointment.
- License :
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Oklahoma required.
- Certifications :
- BLS required. First Aid certification preferred. Crisis Prevention training (TEAM) required within 6 months of hire.
- Must-Have :
- At least a Master's degree in Physical Therapy required.
- Job Description :
- Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer physical therapy modalities as prescribed by a licensed physician.- Assist patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within their capabilities.- Show strong working knowledge and skill experience with various diagnostic groups including orthopedic and arthritis-related conditions, neurological groups like CVA, TBI, degenerative diseases, SCI, and generalized weaknesses due to medical or surgical conditions.- Demonstrate a working knowledge of growth and development, related behaviors, needs, comfort, and treatment appropriate to adult and geriatric patients.- Administer evaluation tools according to established protocols and utilize non-standardized probes for additional assessment as needed.- Establish an appropriate plan of care tailored to individual patient / caregiver needs and goals.- Assess patient pain using hospital-approved measurement tools and adjust treatments accordingly.- Provide verbal / tactile cueing necessary for optimal performance and patient outcome.- Judge the required level of assistance patients will need to achieve set goals using gender / age-specific criteria.- Use time effectively by managing therapy schedule independently and delegating treatment to trained support staff as appropriate.- Perform home assessments and communicate results to patients / caregivers.- Instruct patients in gait training, mobility, and equipment use as needed.- Establish comprehensive, realistic, measurable short- and long-term goals involving patients and families.- Maintain a complete and detailed patient record, including daily, weekly notes, discharge summaries, and education activities.- Document patient / family education and provide necessary home programs.- Communicate with assistants, students, and techs regarding patient care management.- Plan, organize and prioritize caseloads to provide efficient care reflective of patient needs and complete all patients within the assigned workday.- Update therapy boards and patient communication boards as per departmental protocol.- Maintain current knowledge of professional practice by attending in-services, meetings, and continuing education.- Participate in team conferences to support collaborative problem-solving and interdisciplinary goal setting.- Perform other duties as required and assigned.
