Job Description Summary

The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) is a competent registered nurse that will deliver nursing care to patients of varying age groups by utilizing the nursing process and nursing practice standards. The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) uses :

• Nursing Practice Competencies to intervene to achieve safe, optimal patient and family centered care health outcomes;
• Leadership Competencies to coordinate patient care and communicate with the care team;

The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) demonstrates competency caring for complex patients and participates on the care team to improve the quality of care in the clinical area.

About the Unit

The Surgical Transplant ICU is a 13-bed inpatient critical care unit. This ICU cares for critically ill adult patient populations including pre / post solid organ transplants and recovers them straight from the OR. They also care for many other surgical specialties (colorectal, liver, pancreas, urology, hepatobiliary, general surgery).

Shift Length (in hours) : Typical 8-12 hours. May offer flexibility for shorter shifts depending on department's need.
