As an Assistant Produce Manager, you help customers make healthy food choices by providing excellent customer service through managing and leading one of the busiest teams in our store.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Produce Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
- Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Produce team.
- Coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
- Maintain freshness standards throughout the department by proper receiving, processing, packaging, pricing, signage, displaying, and rotation of a complete variety of items.
- Assist in leading a team to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience.
- Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Produce team.
- Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate and maintain produce equipment.
- Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines / regulations, and validate that other Produce team members follow these procedures.
- Join a fast-paced environment and contribute to a positive work atmosphere.
Qualifications
Be at least 18 years old and have a basic knowledge of math, weights and measures.Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.Outgoing and friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.Good communication skills and ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work areas (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations including COOL, and maintain a Food Handlers permit.Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb; lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs., and operate within an 3–foot range for long periods.Ability to operate a pallet jack to move pallets up to 20 feet.Benefits
