We are seeking an experienced Carpenter I to work on our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. As a key member of our team, the Carpenter I will work closely with other crew members and subcontractors to ensure that projects are completed to the highest level of quality.
Responsibilities
- Build, install, and repair structures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the scope of work
- Measure, mark, and cut materials to the required size and shape
- Install windows, frames, floorings, and trim using hand and power tools
- Install cabinets, counters, and molding
- Ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of quality
- Communicate regularly with other crew members and subcontractors to ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budget
- Develop and maintain relationships with crew members and subcontractors to ensure that they are aware of project schedules and deadlines
- Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in carpentry preferred3+ years of experience in carpentry, with experience in a construction setting preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specificationsStrong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiencesStrong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze project data and identify trends and opportunities for improvementExperience with government contracts and compliance is a plusA commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
