SUMMARY OF POSITION
As an Electrical Drafter, you will be responsible for creating and modifying electrical drawings, schematics, and plans based on engineering specifications, using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings including wiring diagrams, schematics, panel layouts, and cable schedules.
- Interpret engineering notes, redlines, and specifications to produce accurate electrical CAD models and documentation.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and designers to ensure design intent is properly documented and constructible.
- Revise existing drawings based on field changes or design updates.
- Organize and maintain CAD files, drawing sets, and documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Assist with bill of materials (BOM) generation and technical documentation.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry codes and company standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, ANSI).
- Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, civil, architectural) to avoid design conflicts.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on constructability or drafting improvements.
- Stay updated with the latest CAD software features and drafting best practices.
POSITION QUALIFICAITONS :
Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, or similar CAD platforms.Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and industry codes.Familiarity with electrical symbols, panel schedules, single-line diagrams, and power distribution layouts.Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND / OR ABILITIES REQUIRED
Experience : 5+ years in electrical drafting or a similar role.
Degree : Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience in Electrical Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
WORKING CONDITIONS
General working environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is primarily conducted indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
