Coverage Needed

  • March 3, 2025 - ongoing

Schedule

  • 12 or 24 hours shifts
  • 7a - 7p or 7a - 7a
  • Weekend Shifts

    • 6a-3p

  • 2p-11p
  • 10p-7a

    • Clinical Details

  • Inpatient
  • Patients per shift : 9 max scheduled cases / day (not including unscheduled patients who are admitted)

    • 6 Day, 3 Night

  • Beds in department : 12 LDR + 3 Low intervention rooms (midwifery)
  • Rounding patients : assigned and unassigned
  • Stroke certified facility
  • Trauma level 1
  • PEDs level 2
  • Average number of deliveries per year : 2500
  • Not fully a true laborist job, as some gyn coverage is provided on occasion
  • The Generalist OB group will be taking call for their private patients
  • Cover inpatient OB as well as inpatient GYN consults on the floor and in the ER

    • Requirements

  • Board Certified with ABOG
  • ACLS, ATLS, BLS

    • Support Staff

  • Days average 7-9 floor nurses (plus 1 charge, 2 triage RN's)
  • Nights average 5-6 floor nurses (plus 1 charge, 2 triage RN's)
  • These drop by about 1-2 nurses on the weekend due to lower case-load
  • OB Assistants (3 on days, 2 on nights) and Surgical Technicians (3 on days, 2 on nights)
  • 4 midwives that care for patients - collaborate with physicians with increased in level of care situations
