Position Summary
This position is part of the Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health at the University of Georgia - Tifton Campus (Bugwood). The Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health develops, maintains and hosts many digital tools and resources including web, smartphone, and database applications.
This position is responsible for working with Center staff, federal and state agencies and other stakeholders to maintain and develop the Bugwood digital resources. They also serve a leading role in web application development. The job necessitates understanding of how to create web applications that provide users with efficient and effective means of interacting with data. They will also serve as a liaison to partners in the Northeastern United States working in Integrated Pest Management.
This position has a limited term appointment term which is expected to end [2 years] after the start date. The position may be extended beyond the initial term, contingent upon continued funding.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Competencies
Languages related to web application development such as JavaScript, CSS , HTML , ColdFusion, PHP , SQL
Familiarity with Integrated Pest Management ( IPM ) and active collaborations in the Northeastern US focusing on IPM
