This team supports open heart, neuro surg, CRRT programs, as the level 2 trauma center for the UP of Michigan, Cath lab and Interventional radiology perform high risk PCI and high-risk procedures. Clinical Educator located on the unit and follows the ECCOs program for orientation. Acuity changes from high ICU census to high IMCU census.\n\nHow you will contribute\n\nA Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role : \n\n
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.\n\n
- Documents patient care given.\n\n
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.\n\n
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.\n\n
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual / psychosocial support needs.\n\n
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and / or family and provides patient / family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.\n\n

- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)\n\n
- Handle with Care- Advanced (within 90 days)\n\n
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)\n\n
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)\n\n
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) (within 1 year)\n\n
