Laundry Supervisor
Supervise work activities of the Laundry. Lead staffs in providing friendly, attentive, and timely service along with ensuring that linen meet our high standard of cleanliness, in alignment with the expectations of Forbes standards, and are properly presented. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality. Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures. Designated to drive a company vehicle. Minimum two (2) years experience. Resort laundry and supervisory experience helpful. High School Diploma or equivalent credentials. College degree preferred. Knowledge of Spanish desirable but not essential. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Valid unencumbered Georgia Driver's License. Company policy requires that one must be 21 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review. Proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as : Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook necessary. Proficient with peripherals, copier, fax, telephone and calculator. Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company Dress Code Policy.
Tasks / Responsibilities :
- Assist in interviewing candidates for open positions
- Assist in establishing laundry weekly staff schedules
- Ensure all laundry employees driving company vehicles have been approved by Human Resources
- Responsible for monitoring and scheduling of maintenance for company vehicles
- Conduct a kick off (line up) meeting as required
- Supervise staff on the production floor
- Assist in training and development of new and present employees in all aspects of their job to include chemical usage and handling, use and application of laundry equipment, material and supplies, etc.
- Assist with performance evaluations and reviews for department staff
- Responsible for one on one meeting with employees to review job and goals performance
- Responsible for coaching and counseling employees on job performance
- Maintain accurate linen inventory
- Supervise and assist with daily and deep cleaning of the laundry area
- Provide clear and concise feedback to subordinates concerning job performance
- Assist in the creation, planning, and implementation of department programs, procedures and employee goals
- Filing as necessary
- Assist and guide Departmental Trainer in maintaining accurate and up to date Task Inventory and breakdowns per position
- Ensure all subordinates are in accordance with grooming standards and dress code policies on a daily basis
- Ensure all lost and found items are handled according to policy
- Assist in establishing and maintaining recognition programs
- Assist the department in reaching financial goals
- Learn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and Members
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one's ability
- If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
- Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
- Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality / timing
- Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
- Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
- Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership
