Manager, Line Maintenance : On-site at LAX Airport
Panasonic Avionics Corporation is seeking a Base Manager - Line Maintenance to lead Maintenance Services operations at the line station location, serve as the primary contact for maintenance issues, and represent Panasonic at customer meetings related to service levels, contractual disputes, and new service issues.
Responsibilities
- Manage, plan, organize, and control all Maintenance Services (MS) operations and administration at the Line Station location.
- Serve as the primary contact for all maintenance issues at the line station; represent Panasonic Maintenance Services in high-level customer meetings and coordinate activities with internal customers.
- Supervise and develop staff : train, assign projects, evaluate, and handle hiring / termination to maintain optimal performance; ensure staff have MS and Customer Approved Training and understand responsibilities to PAC and customers.
- Create, gather, and present pertinent information and metrics to customers and company personnel.
- Maintain inventory control and reporting; ensure chronic problems and system failures are reported to the Maintenance Operations Center (MOC) and MS Technical Services, and communicate uncorrected aircraft problems to the next station.
- Comply with laws and regulations; coordinate with regulatory agencies and representatives.
- Coordinate labor requirements and the opening / closing of new stations within the assigned region.
- Ensure assigned stations perform to MS standards (UFMRs, station records) and align MS maintenance practices with FAA, customer, and PAC policies.
- Coordinate with PAC QA on the MS Station Auditing schedule and ensure stations meet FAA / EASA / airworthiness certification requirements.
- Oversee service deliveries to PAC customers within the area, meeting contractual commitments cost-effectively.
- Maintain 99.95% dispatch reliability for MS serviced aircraft and coordinate with third-party maintenance organizations to meet service agreements.
- Coordinate with MOC to complete tasks related to chronic aircraft items in a timely manner and manage media loading within responsibility area.
Education / Experience Requirements
BA / BS degree strongly desired.Valid A&P, EASA, CASA or region-appropriate licensing.5 years of previous airlines line maintenance experience; 2 years in Electronic / Avionics line or workshop environment.4 years in a front-line supervisory position with 2+ years direct responsibility for four or more subordinates.Valid driver's license required.Ability to analyze diverse situations, understand current business trends, and recommend changes to policies and procedures.Experience managing resources to meet schedules and goals; may manage operations through subordinate supervisors with responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.Knowledge / Skills Requirements
Good computer skills with experience on Windows, Word, Excel, and email; MS Project is a plus.Practical and theoretical electronics and troubleshooting knowledge (aviation, military, or technical school experience) or ability to learn and troubleshoot computer networking systems.Understanding of financial controls and budgets.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with senior management; effective written and verbal English communication; ability to deliver presentations at high-level meetings.Ability to manage a 24 / 7 operation.Other Requirements
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.Must pass extensive security and background checks.Must hold a valid driver's license and meet airport access and vehicle operation requirements.What We Offer
