Area Development Directors
The Moran Company is pleased to partner with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) to conduct a search for Area Development Directors for five of the organization's local offices Ft. Lauderdale, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and San Francisco.
UNCF is a philanthropic organization funding scholarships for African American students and general scholarship funds for 37 private historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), serving as the nation's leading advocate for the importance of minority education. UNCF has raised more than $6 billion in private support and helped more than 500,000 students, awarding more than $65 million in student scholarships each year. UNCF is committed to closing the educational attainment gap by increasing postsecondary access for particularly low-income and first-generation students.
Graduates of UNCF member institutions and scholarships have included many African American leaders in the fields of business, politics, health care and the arts. A few of the prominent UNCF alumni include Dr Martin Luther King Jr.; Alexis Herman, former U.S. Secretary of Labor; movie director Spike Lee; actor Samuel L. Jackson; and Dr. David Satcher, a former U.S. Surgeon General.
Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the work of the UNCF is supported by local offices throughout the North, the South, the Midwest and the Far West of the United States. The Area Development Director (ADD) serves as an ambassador for UNCF in each local office, responsible for engaging donors and leveraging critical relationships to ensure revenue goals are achieved. The ADD works remotely one day each week.
Key Responsibilities
The ADD is responsible for managing the local office, supervising one or more professional and / or administrative staff, and ensuring new sources of restricted income generated from events, individuals, local community partners, foundations and corporations that support the 37 UNCF member institutions.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for the ADD in the following local offices is as follows :
Fort Lauderdale : $84,900 to $90,000
Los Angeles : $104,000 to $130,700
New York : $104,000 to $124,800
Philadelphia : $96,000 to $104,000
San Francisco : $104,000 to $135,000
UNCF offers medical, dental and vision insurance, along with life insurance (basic and optional). The organization contributes to a 403(b) retirement account, along with vacation, sick and personal leave.
