The Behavioral Health Scheduler is part of the person-centered integrated care team responsible for ensuring clients are scheduled for behavioral health appts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling returning client appointments, operating telephone queue, entering consumers into the EHR system, ensuring all Psychiatry Provider reschedules are completed in a timely manner, collecting insurance information, updating client data and exceptional communication to all other team members as needed all while providing great customer service.
This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. The schedule is Monday - Friday and hours are flexible between 7 : 30am - 5 : 30pm, 40 hours weekly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Answer high volume of incoming calls from patients wanting to schedule a new appointment or reschedule an existing appointment
- Schedule for multiple behavioral health care providers in several locations
- Provide excellent customer service
- Ability to manage multiple computer applications using dual monitors
- Understanding of Microsoft Teams and Outlook
- Explain Open Access process to any caller needing to start services with Compass Health, including information on what items they need to bring
- Verify and update name, date of birth, phone number, email address and insurance on each call
- Update Active Care Team on each call
- Summarize each call with details of the action taken for the client’s request
- Transfer calls as needed to other departments or contacts
- Coordinate an interpreter if needed for the appointment that is scheduled
- Cancel and / or Reschedule all Psychiatry Provider absences, permanent schedule changes, or changes to appointment details as needed
- Follow-up on patients who missed their appointment the previous day to reschedule
- Monitor schedule for accuracy, cancellations, and back fill openings
- Work closely with department and front desk staff as needed
- Attend staff meetings as required
- Conducts self in accordance with Compass Health Network’s policies
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines / regulations
- Other duties as assigned
