job_description.job_card.job_descriptionPrepares patient for x-ray; explains procedures to patient and / or family; prepares room, equipment and materials as needed. Positions patient and arranges immobilization and support devices for patient. Practices radiation protection / safety techniques to limit exposure to patient and medical staff. Adjusts equipment controls; determines proper voltage and exposure time; administers routine x-ray exams. Observes patient and machine during procedure; reports unusual occurrences to physician. Documents procedure performed in patient record. Maintains CD library of x-rays taken; retrieves and logs x-rays requested or copies made for patients or referring physicians. Cleans and disinfects x-ray room and equipment; maintains inventory and orders x-ray supplies. Performs x-ray quality assurance tests and maintains x-ray quality assurance records. Transmits x-ray images to radiology group for interpretation; completes follow-up of x-ray transmission with phone call; ensures hard copy of report is given to physician for review and notation. Reports any problems with x-ray equipment promptly to physician; notifies Office Supervisor of equipment problems and calls appropriate service vendors as directed. Turns in personal radiology exposure badges for evaluation as required by state law.

Education and Experience :

\n\n
Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technologist program required. Current certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
