Job Purpose
Our Technical Department delivers both in-house and on-site support across the business, ensuring the correct specification, monitoring, and delivery of LWS guarantees. The team plays a critical role in maintaining the service standards of our guarantees and provides expert assistance to internal teams, external clients, and customers on all technical matters.
The Design Operations Team is responsible for producing roof prescriptions. As part of this process, the Architectural Department develops precise and detailed section drawings using AutoCAD and SketchUp Pro. In your role as a Design Consultant , you will be instrumental in creating both standard and bespoke detail drawings for flat roof applications, which form a key component of our technical specifications.
You will also support your line manager by contributing to the production of drawings for live projects, ensuring all outputs are delivered professionally and within agreed timelines.
Additional responsibilities include providing high-level design support and guidance to internal stakeholders and collaborating closely with colleagues from both the Sales and Technical teams. You will be expected to share your design expertise proactively, anticipate technical needs, and contribute to enhancing the roofing knowledge of your peers, all while supporting the broader objectives of the business.
Key Accountabilities
- Create accurate, high-quality CAD drawings for refurb and new build roofing waterproofing projects.
- Interpret architectural / engineering drawings into detailed roof sections. Lead design meetings and manage projects with minimal supervision.
- Maintain and update standard drawing packages on SharePoint and CRM.
- Monitor shared inbox and prioritise drawing requests per line manager guidance.
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and clients to resolve technical queries.
- Champion company values (SPIRE) and uphold professional standards.

Architectural, construction, roofing, or CAD-related qualification (preferred).Experience
3+ years in flat roofing with waterproofing systems knowledge (preferred).4+ years AutoCAD experience (essential); SketchUp Pro experience (preferred); Revit experience (preferred).Experience in technical environments with strong service delivery focus.Experience of working to deadlines in a fast pace technical office environment.Knowledge
Minimum 3 years’ experience of working in the flat roofing industry with a knowledge of primary waterproofing systems (essential).Minimum 4 years’ of using AutoCAD (essential).Experience of working as a team member and as an individual using your initiative.Working with KPI targets.Skills And Abilities
