Overview

Placer County is currently accepting applications for Junior Engineer and Assistant Engineer to fill vacancies in the Department of Public Works (Engineering Division, Transportation Planning Division, and Floodplain & Stormwater Division) and the Community Development Resource Agency. As an Engineer - Assistant you will perform professional and technical engineering work in the office and in the field related to public works / civil engineering projects and programs.

Salary and Benefits

Salary : $42.78 - $53.42 / hour; $7,415.20 - $9,259.47 / month; $88,982.40 - $111,113.60 / year. This classification is scheduled to receive a general wage increase of 4.0% in July 2024. Placer County offers extensive benefits packages, prorated for part-time workers. Additionally, this classification is scheduled to receive general wage increases of 4.0% in July 2023 and 4.0% in July 2024 in addition to potential merit increases.

Responsibilities

  • As an Engineer - Assistant you will perform professional and technical engineering work in the office and in the field related to public works / civil engineering projects and programs.

    • Qualifications

  • Experience : Two years of responsible professional engineering experience performing duties similar to a Junior Engineer with Placer County.
  • Training : Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Required License : Possession of an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate.
