Ordnance Tech - Firing Tunnel

Salary Range : $58,342 - $99,346

Provide Ordnance & Weapons support to the Ordnance Integration Support Branch in the Test & Evaluation Division of the Naval Test Wing, Atlantic, located at NAS Patuxent River, MD.

Essential Job Functions :

Conduct, Facilitate Ordnance Testing Services.

Conduct, Facilitate, Coordinate Facility / test capability maintenance.

Participate in Development / Improvement of facility capabilities to meet customer requirements as needed.

Comply with work tasks as directed.

Maintain qualifications and certifications for Ammunition and Explosives Handling; Board Member, Ordnance, accountability and Screening, Weight Handling Equipment, Forklift, etc. IAW with applicable Policies and Instructions.

Maintain an Ordnance Handlers Certification as per NAVSEA OP 5 & OPNAVINST 8023.24; keep within standards for accountability and screening as per OPNAVINST 5530.13.

Comply with applicable DoD and DoN policies and instructions to complete assigned tasks.

Required Skills :

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A High School Diploma or GED plus 7 years of experience is required.

Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance within 6-9 months of hire.

Knowledge of planning and execution of stores compatibility ground tests.

Knowledge and adherence of ordnance SOPs, government policies and instructions.

Knowledge of and conduct of weapon loading, handling, accountability, and screening of the operation of support equipment.
