Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant - Bilingual (Spanish) - Part Time

We are looking for an Early Head Start Mental Health Consultant who believes in taking positive steps to impact a child's life and those who know the importance of enhancing their emotional development and mental health. This position is responsible for supporting the social emotional growth of children (6 weeks - 3 years old) in Early Head Start Programs through observation, planning with parents and caretakers, and training. This position is part time with an average of 15 hours a week , typical schedule is 8 : 00am - 1 : 00pm, but must be flexible in order to meet the needs of our clients.

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Conduct child and / or classroom observations to inform creation of consultation plans.
• Develop and maintain cooperative and positive working partnerships with children, parents, staff and other professionals.
• Develop and provide trainings to families and Early Head Start staff requested by funding agency.
• Utilize evidence based practice such as Trauma Informed Care, Conscious Discipline, The Pyramid Model and Positive Behavior Support to inform interventions.
• Review and interpret assessments such as the DECA and the ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE and share results with parents and caretakers.
• Complete all required documentation timely and accurately including : monthly logs, observation notes, assessments, plans, consultation notes, progress notes and referrals.
