Med / Surg Tele RN Job Details

Location : Auburn, NY 13021 (Upstate New York healthcare jobs)

Facility : Community Hospital, 90 beds

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Start Date : November 2, 2025

End Date : January 31, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour days (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 30 PM)

Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1930 - $2070

Unit : Medical Surgical and Telemetry (float required)

Charting System : Paragon

Patient Ratio : 1 : 6-7

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry RN experience

Active New York State Registered Nurse license

Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification and 6 CEUs in stroke-related topics (required before start)

Proficient IV skills (facility does not have an IV team)

Ability to independently interpret telemetry strips

Travel nursing experience preferred

Proctored EKG exam required on Day 1

COVID-19 vaccine not required (proof or declination accepted)

Flu vaccine or declination required (mask required if declining)

Med / Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in Medical Surgical and Telemetry units

Float between units to support hospital staffing needs

Independently interpret and monitor telemetry strips

Initiate and manage IVs for patients

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes

Accurately document patient care using Paragon charting system

Maintain required certifications and participate in continuing education

Work every other weekend as scheduled
