About The Position

Job Title : Operating Room Registered Nurse

Certifications : BLS required; CNOR and CST preferred

• Level I trauma experience required
• Required Bariatric Case Experience : Laparoscopic assisted cases
• Required General Surgery Case Experience : Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair (inguinal / umbilical), Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy (partial / total), Whipple
• Required Client Case Skills / Experience : Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy / discectomy, Lumbar fusion
• Required Orthopedic Case Skills / Experience : Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel release, Closed reduction of fractures, Open reduction of fractures
• Required Plastic Surgery Case Skills / Experience : Free Flap - Microvascular
• Required Transplant Skills / Experience : Organ donation
• Required Urology Case Skills / Experience : Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy
• Required Trauma Case Skills / Experience : Amputations, Gunshot / stab wounds, MVA (multiple injuries)
• Required Emergency Management Skills / Experience : Code response, Fire safety, Latex Allergy, Malignant Hyperthermia
• Required Equipment / Instrumentation / Supplies Experience : Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources / cords, Hana tables
• Required Professional Knowledge and Skills : Administration of blood products, Infection control, Clienttion Safety, Specimen Handling / labeling, Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure, Urinary bladder catheterization

Description :

This position involves working in the operating room.

The nurse will assist in surgical procedures across various specialties, except cardiovascular.

Experience in a Level I trauma center is essential.

Candidates will be required to work with all service lines.

First-time travelers are not accepted for this role.

There is a requirement for one weekend shift per month.

The nurse must float within their skill set to meet facility needs.

The facility may call-off scheduled hours, but there are specific guidelines regarding cancellations.

All requested time off will require manager approval.

COVID-19 vaccination is not required, but the flu vaccine is mandatory with exemptions considered.

Candidates must have relevant experience and skills as outlined in the job description.

All submissions should ensure compliance with the specified criteria.

Floating is mandatory for all travelers within the operating room and surrounding facilities.

Certifications must be current, and AHA and Red Cross credentials are preferred.

Compliance with additional requirements will be necessary upon acceptance of the position.
