Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Hickory, NC 28601 – A top destination for North Carolina nursing jobs, offering outdoor recreation, arts, and a vibrant downtown.

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Unit : Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg) – 17 / 18 beds

Shift : 12-Hour Nights (19 : 00-07 : 00)

Weekly Hours : 36

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 10 / 2025 – End : 2 / 9 / 2026)

Electronic Health Record : Cerner

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1590 - $1710

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

Proficiency with Cerner EHR required

BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)

Ability to float to all areas of the healthcare facility as needed

Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on the medical-surgical unit

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress in compliance with healthcare standards

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans

Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care instructions

Float to other nursing units within the facility as required
