Structural Engineer - Building Structures | Hybrid

Our New York office is expanding its structures team. In this position, you would serve an important role in the planning, analysis, design, and detailing of new building structures and existing building renovation, with a current focus on transportation-related buildings such as rail and transit stations, parking facilities, and highway and railroad overbuilds. The ideal candidate should possess a "can-do" attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun environment. The position includes significant opportunities for personal and professional development and growth within VHB's emerging building design practice in New York and New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Supports, develops, organizes, and implements structural planning, analysis, preliminary and final design document preparation for transportation related building structures
• Project scoping and development
• Mentors team members in the development of design plans, technical oversight, specifications, design calculations, load ratings, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, etc. Provides technical oversight and review of structural designs.
• Assists with project budgets and schedules
• Assists with proposals and presentations for rail / transit pursuits

Qualifications

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $110,000-135,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
