Healthcare Setting : Cardiac ICU (CVICU)

Position Type : Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract

Start Date : September 15, 2025

End Date : December 14, 2025

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00pm – 7 : 30am)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Float Requirement : Float to MICU, SICU, and other medical units as needed

Unit Size : 8 beds

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1 : 1, 2 : 1, or 3 : 1

Charting System : Cerner

Scrub Color : Navy Blue

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1840-$1980

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (South Carolina or compact state)

Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience

BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required

Travel nursing experience preferred

Ability to float to MICU, SICU, and other critical care units

ICU RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality clinical care to patients in the Cardiac ICU (CVICU)

Manage patients with complex diagnoses, including open heart surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, trauma, and medical overflow

Assist with and perform special procedures : chest tubes, Swan-Ganz catheters, temporary pacemakers, Cordis, cardiac continuous output, JP drains, central lines, arterial lines, tracheostomy, PEG, and G / J tubes

Document patient care accurately using Cerner EHR

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes

Float to other critical care units (MICU, SICU) as needed
