Overview
The Learning Specialist reports to the Director for Academic Success and supports the Academic Success Programs (ASP) for the MD program in the University of Georgia School of Medicine. The role focuses on delivering and refining programming that supports students across all four years of the MD curriculum in reading, writing, time management, learning self-management, knowledge organization, clinical reasoning, and related areas.

Responsibilities
Deliver, create, and refine ASP programming; manage the program calendar; provide workshops and other teaching sessions to support learners and program adjunct faculty.Deliver individualized academic counseling and coaching for MD students; develop and update learning materials and resources to support student success.Create new content to support existing programming and assist with the Peer-Assisted Learning Program (near-peer tutoring), including recruitment, hiring, budgeting, advertising, accessibility, adaptability, feedback, and program improvement.Collaborate with leadership to monitor student needs, identify appropriate referrals, and act as a point of contact with adjunct faculty and other support services.Contribute to developing, implementing, and evaluating ASP policies and procedures in alignment with FERPA, HIPAA, LCME guidelines, and USG policies.Participate in proctoring and other duties as assigned across the medical education program.Qualifications
Minimum : Requires at least a bachelor's degree in the field; education / experience evaluated in lieu of degree per HR evaluation guidelines.Preferred : Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, educational psychology, counseling); higher education experience in teaching, counseling, training, or coaching; experience in Health Professions Education or professional degree programs; experience with ADA accommodations; experience applying learning sciences to coaching.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
