Our manufacturing, supply, sales, and support operations are global, with sales in 22 countries (and growing). Our flagship device is transforming the way plastic surgeons practice worldwide. With rapid adoption, global expansion, and highly specialized logistics for a growing portfolio of devices, we are looking for a full-time Junior Firmware Engineer to help design, control, and optimize the embedded intelligence that powers our next-generation platforms.
Position Summary
The PCB Artwork Engineer at ELIXIR MD is responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining PCB layouts that support ELIXIRs medical device platforms. The role requires close collaboration with electrical, firmware, and mechanical engineers to ensure that PCB designs meet electrical, mechanical, and thermal performance requirements, as well as regulatory and manufacturability standards. The engineer will manage ECAD data, generate fabrication and assembly outputs, and contribute to supplier coordination for prototype and production builds
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update PCB layouts from schematic input (using Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar).
- Collaborate and work with engineers to ensure accurate component placement, routing, and stack-up design.
- Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) principles for PCB builds.
- Generate and review Gerber files, drill drawings, pick-and-place data, and fabrication documentation.
- Perform design rule checks (DRC) and electrical rule checks (ERC) to ensure layout quality.
- Support prototype board assembly and coordinate with PCB vendors and assemblers.
- Participate in schematic capture, BOM validation, and version control for ECAD data.
- Assist in reverse-engineering legacy PCB boards when no design data is available.
- Work with mechanical engineers to ensure mechanical fit, connector alignment, and thermal design compliance.
- Support ECO / ECN processes, documentation updates, and configuration control under ISO 13485.
