Position Purpose
Assist the Senior Director of Nursing in planning, organizing , developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Services department to ensure the highest degree of quality patient care in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Annandale Village standards. Responsible for Minimum Data Set for facility. Conduct and coordinate the development and completion of the resident assessment process in accordance with the requirements of the Federal and State regulations as well as Company policy and procedure.
Required Qualifications
Active LPN or RN License
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an active license,
Knowledge of current standard in Long Term Care at least 5 years of nursing experience,
At least 2 years of MDS experience.
Must have proficient computer skills with working knowledge of programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and preferably MDS software.
Must be able to assume the duties of the DON in his or her absence.
Two (2) years’ experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Class C Georgia Driver’s License, proof of vehicle insurance, and meet company policy regarding MVR requirements.
Must meet state requirements regarding a GBI and FBI criminal history record check which requires fingerprinting.
Must undergo and pass a drug screening and screening for Tuberculosis.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Senior Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the facility's quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
Assist the Senior Director of Nursing in determining the staffing needs of the nursing service department.
Completes assessments, Minimum Data Set (MDS) and care plans for all residents.
Monitors completion of MDS's by other disciplines within time frames prescribed by regulatory guidelines.
Initiates care plans and supporting activities that will result in the best possible outcome for the villagers.
Maintains and updates all care plans and assessments on a quarterly (at minimum) or as needed basis and adds / deletes issues as necessary.
Reviews all incidents and accidents and the 24-hour report daily to ensure that care plans for assigned villagers reflect current and changing needs.
Participate in QAPI or facility assessment activities.
Perform rounds to observe residents and ensure nursing needs are met.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.
Function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and vendors.
