Underground Coal Mine Maintenance Trainee

Overall Job Purpose :

This position offers an opportunity for individuals with a background in maintenance or technical fields to gain valuable experience in the underground coal mining industry. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to safety, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities Include :

• Support the safety and health goals and objectives of Canyon Fuel Company, LLC.
• Perform maintenance tasks as assigned in a manner that maximizes safety and efficiency.
• Comply with Federal and State regulations governing underground coal mine operations.
• Work effectively with peers and supervisors to achieve maintenance objectives.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds frequently and perform tasks requiring physical agility.
• Traverse uneven surfaces, work overhead, climb, and use hand tools on a regular basis.
• Work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Engage in frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and extending.
• Work in damp and somewhat dark environments associated with an underground coal mine.
