The Department of Physiology & Cell Biology at the University of South Alabama Whiddon College of Medicine and the USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute are jointly seeking to fill a research-intensive, tenure-accruing associate professor / professor position. The candidate will integrate into existing cancer and lung biology programs within the USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute and Center for Lung Biology. Competitive applicants must have an M.D. and / or Ph.D. degree, postdoctoral fellowship experience, and a demonstrated aptitude in competing for extramural grant support. The M.D. candidate is expected to be a board-certified pulmonary and critical care physician. The M.D. or Ph.D. candidate will contribute to the college's graduate and medical education mission. We are seeking individuals who work well with both basic and clinical collaborators and who have exceptional written and oral communication skills. The position comes with a competitive start-up package and will also receive an annual disbursement from the Danley-Aldridge Research Endowment fund to support the candidate's research program.
