Administrative Assistant - Jackson, TN

SMS Mill Services, LLC, located in Jackson, TN is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our team.

This role is essential in providing administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of this site.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for pieces of payroll, recruiting, ordering parts, managing inventory, and acting as a team member for HR.  This position requires a professional demeanor and the capability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

This position is inside a steel mill in a heavy industrial setting.

• Please note :
• This position is not due to start until November 3, 2025, and will train a few weeks with the dedicated employee retiring from this position.  SMS provides a comprehensive range of services for steel mill customers.  We partner with our customers to design custom, cost-effective solutions, which focus on adding value and achieving goals for the operation and the environment.
• Our range of services includes, but is not limited scrap yard management, finished or semi-finished product services, melt shop services, logistics / transportation support, and slag processing.
• Responsibilities Conduct necessary purchasing as needed, matching PO’s to invoices to ensure accuracy.
• Obtain quotes for requested purchases, create requisitions, receive materials and services rendered in JD Edwards Assist with Payroll – tracking, inputting and monitoring time & attendance.
