job_description.job_card.job_descriptionAHA, BLS certification required ACLS Certification Required American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Specialist or Health Fitness Instructor certification required or willing to complete within two year of employment. Experience in formulating exercise plans for individual or group settings. Experience in leading group exercise sessions, to include warm-ups, cool-downs, circuit weight training. Knowledge in working with adult and geriatric patient population living with obesity and motility limitation. Monday-Friday, days vary but equal to 8 hours per week; typically, day shift, some evenings. Occasionally asked to work for special events. Hours based on work demand. At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits. Exercise Specialist Position Summary
The Exercise Specialist in Bariatrics will focus on the evaluation and treatment of patients of the practice through fitness education and lifestyle modifications for patients with obesity and mobility limitations. The Exercise Specialist will also participate in support Groups for patient on Medical and Surgical weight loss programs. The Exercise Specialist was provide a strong understand in exercise science, behavioral changes, and chronic disease management, while providing expert guidance and support to patients on their weight loss journey.
Exercise Specialist Position Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or Community Health Education, Kinesiology or related field required.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
