General Job Summary
The Lean Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for overseeing and advancing the Mathews Brothers continuous improvement initiatives. This includes working with production personnel to improve throughput and quality while reducing waste in a production environment. This will entail applying and teaching Lean tools and methodology to achieve the goals set by the company. This role will report directly to the Director of Engineering.
Essential Job Functions
- Oversee creation, implementation, and documenting of standard operating procedures
- Oversee creation, implementation, and documenting of quality standards
- Manage and facilitate Lean meetings in both Hermon and Belfast to accomplish company goals
- Host and / or facilitate Lean education sessions as required to accomplish company goals
- Partner with appropriate personnel to optimize product flow
- Create and manage all process flow diagrams
- Aid in creating and managing key performance indicators for quality and volume
- Optimize existing or develop a visual management tool (such as a Gemba board) for tracking performance and status at the line level of production
- Manage projects with tasked deadlines
- Take a lead role in facilitating Kaizen events
- Identify types of waste with current systems / processes and develop ways to streamline and track success
- Based on quality and throughput goals, recommend equipment needs to production management so as to achieve goals

Primary location for this role is Belfast, MaineHours can be flexible with typical being roughly 7 : 30am to 4 : 30pm.
