Fuel Technician

Reliance One, Inc. is hiring for one of our clients. The Fuel Technician will support testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of stationary test apparatus and electrical systems. This role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical diagnostic work, both in-house and in the field, and offers an excellent opportunity to work in a cutting-edge power systems environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate stationary test apparatus instrumentation using proprietary and off-the-shelf data acquisition systems.
- Collect and compile system and performance data.
- Support stationary testing, including test cell setup, maintenance, and installation / removal of test components.
- Manage inventory, order parts, and consumables.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical (as needed) and electrical systems (primary focus), including off-site fieldwork.
- Perform routine maintenance of test units, test equipment, and related peripherals.
- Participate in developing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) prior to starting work.
- Prepare and issue daily, weekly, and periodic technical reports.
- Some overtime (approximately 1 hour per day) and travel (~25%) are required.
Requirements
Minimum 4 years of experience as a Power Plant Technician, Generator Technician, or similar role.Hands-on experience with instrumentation and controls for generators, compressors, motors, etc.Skilled in troubleshooting generators and related equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and PLC systems.Knowledge and experience in inspecting, testing, diagnosing, and repairing natural gas and electric-diesel generators and automatic transfer switches.Experience with both high- and low-voltage systems (high-voltage certification is a plus).Familiarity with fuel cell systems is advantageous.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.Experience commissioning new equipment, such as generators.Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Experience driving manual transmission vehicles is a plus.Strong understanding of commercial / industrial electrical systems; vehicle electrical system experience is a plus.Able to work independently with minimal supervision.Adaptable to changing environments, including remote test sites or customer locations.Fabrication experience (machine shop, MIG / TIG welding) is a plus.Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Statement
