Job Summary :

The Resale Shop Sales Associate role provides important support for the organization. In this role, you regularly interact with the public and act as the face of Zaman International. You provide a welcoming and friendly interaction with our clients and donors. You excel in customer service, retail operations and inventory management which enables our team to provide services to marginalized women and their children. We appreciate your courteousness, attention to detail, as well as your adaptability. Your ability to interact with team mates, donors and patrons respectfully as well as cheerfully is important. You report to the Warehouse Manager. The position is part-time up to 20 hours between 8 : 30 to 4 : 30 Monday thru Saturday, generally, with occasional additional hours and the position is considered hourly, non-exempt.

Essential Functions :

Opening / closing of store, including balancing the cash register.

Operate cash register program according to policy and instruction.

Process sales transactions ensuring accuracy of payment.

Assist with store presentation, marketing, promotions and special events.

Assist in general housekeeping, including bathrooms, and the maintenance of the store image.

Assure all shopping baskets are brought in from the parking area.

Accept donated items and provide an accurate receipt.

Keep management informed by submitting regular time sheets and as requested reports.

Job Specifications :

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED. The successful candidate is prompt and has reliable transportation. The ideal candidate also has experience in retail sales, marketing or customer service. Work pace is steady, requiring lifting and / or carrying of up to 25 lbs consistently. On a regular basis heavier items of up to 50 lbs will be lifted / carried either with assistance from another person or by using appropriate material handling equipment. Preferably, this person has experience in an inter-faith setting and representing an organization with the public.
