Med / Surg RN Job Details Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1470 - $1570 Assignment Length : 13-week travel contract Healthcare Setting : Academic Medical Center, 8 Ardmore East Medicine Unit Unit Beds : 26-bed Med / Surg unit Nursing Shift : 12-hour day shifts (7 : 00 AM start), 36 hours per week Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week Weekend Rotation : Every other weekend Holiday Expectations : Travelers work 75% of holidays Scrub Color : Royal blue Free Employee Parking Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg or Telemetry RN experience Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or compact state BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Strong clinical background in general medicine (diabetes management, GI, respiratory, renal, wound care, chest tubes, tracheostomies, lab draws) Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips Proficient in chest tubes, tracheostomies, PIV starts, drains & tubes, PCA pumps Experience with Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work in moderate to high stress healthcare environments Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver direct and indirect patient care to a diverse patient population Manage patient ratios of 5-6 : 1 in a busy medical-surgical unit Perform lab draws, wound care, and medication administration Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, and clinical support staff Float to other Med / Surg units as needed Participate in departmental and facility orientation (2 days) Sign telemetry strips each shift and oversee centralized telemetry monitoring Work closely with rapid response teams, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists Maintain a patient-centered, highly reliable, and team-oriented healthcare culture Apply now to join our healthcare team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
