Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Technician to manage and guide a team of 10–30 technicians on infrastructure projects within a fast-paced data center environment. This position requires strong leadership, technical skills, and a proactive approach to ensure daily tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of structured cabling, racking systems, and power connectivity, and is capable of bridging the gap between field technicians and site leadership.
Key Responsibilities :
- Direct day-to-day tasks of a team of technicians performing rack installations, cable pulling, terminations, labeling, testing, and clean-up
- Ensure all work is performed according to site standards, project specifications, and safety guidelines
- Perform hands-on work while monitoring quality control across the team
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians
- Act as the liaison between crew members and the Foreman / Supervisor to communicate progress, issues, and material needs
- Track daily work progress and provide status updates to site leadership
- Support training efforts to elevate technician skills and promote best practices
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with conflict resolution and problem-solving in the field
- Ensure proper PPE usage and compliance with all safety protocols
Qualifications :
3–5 years of experience in structured cabling, electrical, or data center infrastructure roles1+ years of experience leading crews or serving in a team lead capacityBilingual (Spanish / English) preferred, but not requiredStrong working knowledge of structured cabling (copper and fiber), racking systems, and power deliveryAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, cable maps, and labeling schedulesClear communication skills — both verbal and writtenAbility to delegate, prioritize, and adapt to shifting project needsComfortable using basic reporting tools (digital or paper-based) to track tasks and timePhysical Requirements :
Ability to stand, bend, and lift throughout the shiftMust be able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders or lifts as neededComfortable working in live data center environments and construction settingsWillingness to work overtime, weekends, or night shifts if required by the projectPreferred Certifications :
OSHA 10 or 30BICSI Installer II or TechnicianManufacturer certifications (e.g., Corning, Panduit, Commscope)CPR / First AiWe value reliability, accountability, and strong field leadership. This role offers a pathway to grow into a Foreman or Site Supervisor position for the right candidate.
