Senior Product Manager For Generative AI

The Senior Product Manager for Generative AI leads strategy and execution across Shutterstock's proprietary platforms including : image generator, video generator, and editor. The role spans product vision, roadmap ownership, stakeholder alignment, vendor engagement, and design leadership. It sits at the center of the AI Business Unit, bridging Marketplace, Business Solutions, and Studios, and operates as a generative AI center of excellence for the company.

This is both a highly strategic and hands-on role. The Senior PM must balance roadmap execution, design leadership, market awareness, and stakeholder alignment to ensure Shutterstock's generative AI products are best-in-class. The ideal backfill is a design-savvy, data-informed, technically fluent PM with a strong vision for AI's future.

The Day To Day

Establish and manage robust product roadmaps for customer-facing generation experience (image video, editing).

Execute roadmap with support from machine learning engineers to deliver services such as model selection, AI safety, automated review and advanced features.

Drive priorities based on business / revenue impact across key business units (Marketplace and Business Solutions.)

Ensure alignment of priorities across key business unit sponsors and and engage in deep understanding of business needs such that roadmap reflects impact and business unit objectives

Partner with Business unit stakeholders to ensure AI strategy is embedded in all aspects of divisional strategies.

Lead GTM readiness, ensuring clear understanding of new capabilities, value propositions, and competitive positioning are clear and compelling.

Evangelize internally to ensure the most current AI capabilities and strategies are considered and developed for Shutterstock's customers and business objectives

Partner with business units and champion design excellence by working closely with UX teams to deliver creative tools that are intuitive, powerful, and inspiring.

Bring an opinionated design perspective rooted in competitive research and customer needs.

Establish high standards of usability and creative empowerment across generative experiences

Maintain partnerships with major model partners (Google, OpenAI, Amazon, Runway, Replicate, etc.).

Collaborate with Business Development to support negotiations and roadmap discussions.

Track industry trends, evaluate competitor products, and directly test new models to inform roadmap decisions

Understand generative AI APIs, architectures, and cloud-based integrations; troubleshoot issues and assess product impact.

Use SQL / Tableau / Snowflake to self-serve analysis, support decision-making, and run experiments validating model capabilities.

Contribute hands-on to model testing and evaluation to inform product direction.

Respond to escalated customer issues and coordinate triage with engineering.

Drive internal communication and adoption of launches across sales, marketing, and support.

What You'll Bring To The Role

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Product Management, Computer Science, AI, Business, or related field.

Experience

5+ years in product management, ideally with SaaS, APIs, or AI-powered applications.

Deep understanding of generative AI, including multimodal content generation (image, video, audio).

Track record of shipping customer-facing creative tools and scaling enterprise-ready AI solutions.

Proven success in stakeholder alignment across product, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.

The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. You may also be eligible for our generous benefits package including health, wellness and financial benefits.

The pay range for this position is below :

170,000 - 180,000 per year in New York

Note : Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
