Contract Attorney – Employment Litigation

Are you a skilled attorney with experience in employment litigation? Join our team as a  Contract Attorney  and play a key role in managing federal employment cases for a dynamic practice. This hybrid opportunity offers flexibility, collaboration, and meaningful legal challenges in an engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Discovery Management :  Handle discovery for federal employment discrimination cases, which make up approximately 90% of the caseload in federal court.
  • Drafting & Responding :  Draft and respond to discovery and motions, maintaining high quality and timeliness.
  • Team Collaboration :  Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure efficient case management and optimal outcomes.
  • Union Trust Fund Cases :  Work on multi-employer benefit fund and union trust fund matters, ensuring compliance and accurate representation.
  • Data Organization :  Use spreadsheets to manage case data, often working collaboratively with auditors for accurate data processing.
  • Team Communication :  Regularly communicate with team members to track case progress, align on procedures, and meet deadlines effectively.

Schedule & Location

  • Work Arrangement :  Full-time contract role, approximately 40 hours / week.
  • Hybrid Work Flexibility :  Preferably, 2–3 days onsite at our Glendale office (flexible for highly qualified candidates).
  • Start Time :  Flexible start between 8 : 30–9 : 30 AM with overlap during secretarial hours (9 AM–5 PM).
  • Requirements

  • Must have active CA Bar
  • Strong experience in employment litigation, with a focus on federal employment discrimination cases.
  • Exceptional skills in discovery management, legal drafting, and case collaboration.
  • Understanding of union trust fund regulations and multi-employer benefit matters is a plus.
  • Proficiency in managing data with spreadsheets and coordinating with auditors.
  • Ability to adapt to hybrid work settings and communicate effectively with teams onsite or remotely.
