Job Description

As Manager of Tool Engineering group, the candidate would be responsible for providing supervisory / management responsibilities for a small group of engineers designing development and production tooling for the product lines at ABL (metal fabrication, composites, ammunition, electronic fuze, and rocket motor / warhead). This manager would also work on proposal requests and provide technical leadership and guidance to employees.

This position will be located on-site at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote work is available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team that designs, procures and validates manufacturing / test tooling
  • Ensure the right people are in place to meet the business needs (staffing forecasts)
  • Oversee the supervision of day-to-day engineering activity, expense management, workload management and performance management process
  • Identify, manage and grow the critical skills for the tooling design team
  • Prepare, review, and approve cost estimates and written technical proposals

  • Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering is required, preferably Mechanical or Aerospace
  • Minimum of 5 years of directly related engineering experience, or 3 years with an MS degree
  • Strong mechanical skills and exposure to a manufacturing environment
  • Ability and experience with interpreting drawing / specification requirements
  • Strong leadership, influence, and project management skills
  • Ability to network and negotiate at all levels within an organization to accomplish objectives
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to travel occasionally (
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior design or tool design experience
  • Exposure to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Prior experience working with DoD and / or DoE customers, tech data packages and specs
  • Primary Level Salary Range : $101,900.00 - $152,900.00

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\'s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and / or personal business.
