What the Ideal Candidate will do :

T he Field Service Engineer will p rovide customer service and technical support by installing equipment, investigating, resolving customer reports of technical problems, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties :

  • This position is regional and covers the Midwest region. The ideal candidate lives in the Midwest area.
  • Commissions, calibrates, and services new or modified equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
  • Reviews performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives and inspects malfunctioning or damaged product to determine nature and scope of problem.
  • Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
  • Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
  • Provides on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
  • Associate's degree in mechanical discipline from a two-year college or technical school. Bachelor's Degree in engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have mechanical and electrical skills having experience in a production / assembly line type of environment.
  • Proficient in DVM, O-Scope, and instruments used in troubleshooting of electro schematics diagrams.
  • Must have PLC / Automation skills.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings, operating / maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must possess strong communication, math, and computer skills. SAP experience preferred.

  • Travel up to 80% of the time, sometimes internationally.
