VulcanForms seeks a CNC Machinist for our Newburyport, MA location. This position is shift-based (2nd shift).

Job Purpose

As the CNC Machinist at VulcanForms, you will operate CNC Lathe and / or Mill Machines to support manufacturing based on skillset and shop demand. We manufacture parts for aerospace, military and defense, satellite, and medical devices in an environmentally controlled, state-of-the-art facility committed to producing quality parts for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a CNC lathe (work holding, tool kit, tool touching off, establishing offsets, reading manufacturing drawings, and first article buy-off) on FANUC, Yasnac, Mitsubishi, and related controls.
• Operate a CNC 3-, 4-, or 5-axis mill (work holding, tool kit, tool touching off, establishing offsets, reading drawings, and first article buy-off) on Fanuc, Yasnac, Brother, and Heidenhain controls.
• Use a pre-setter offline for tool offsets (experience is a plus).
• Utilize quick-change tooling (experience is a plus).
• Set up and edit programs on machines within the department and periodically inspect parts during production for dimensional and visual quality.
• Monitor equipment and tooling, respond to breakdowns or disruptions to the process.
• Follow instructions on process sheets, drawings, and / or programs.
• Support training of junior team members on machining aspects.
• Help others identify issues and troubleshoot their work; interface with Quality, Engineering, and other team members.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
