IP Transactions Associate – Entertainment Boutique

Location : New York Office (Remote possibilities)

Experience : 1–3 Years | IP Transactional Focused Practice

An entertainment boutique headquartered in New York is seeking a transactional IP Associate to join its growing team focused on intellectual property and entertainment law. This is a rare opportunity to work with major names across entertainment, tech, publishing, and the arts, all within a truly people-first environment offering long-term growth and flexibility.

About The Firm

This highly regarded team is ranked by top legal directories for its media and entertainment work advises across the full spectrum of IP, licensing, brand collaborations, and platform-based content. Associates are fully client-facing and mentored closely by experienced partners with deep roots in the industry. Notably, no associate has ever lateraled to another firm in its 10-year history.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate agreements involving IP, talent, licensing, and content production
  • Vet scripts, podcasts, and publications for legal risk (defamation, privacy, etc.)
  • Advise startups, creators, and media platforms on copyright, fair use, and IP strategy
  • Support brand campaigns and advertising projects involving influencers and digital media
  • Contribute to the firm's advisory and corporate work with creative and tech clients

Who You Are

  • at least a years experience in intellectual property or transactional law (agreements, Licensing, commercial contracts etc)
  • Licensed in New York (or eligible to waive in)
  • Excellent drafting skills with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong interest in entertainment, publishing, or tech-related legal work
  • Bonus if you've worked on matters involving creators, performers, or digital platforms

    Salary : Boutique-level, competitive based on experience
