This individual is responsible for receiving and positioning raw materials for processing within the shipping department and for banding, packaging, and moving in process and finished coils upon completion of the Recoil or Slitting process in preparation for Shipping.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Loading and unloading coils off of trucks using an overhead crane or forklift and matching the bill of lading against the work order or receiving report.Checking work orders to determine if coil is to be packaged for shipment or processed further in house.Pulling coils off the coil car or turnstile, weighing coil, and recording correct weight and coil number, both on the coil and the appropriate paperwork.Receiving paint, solvent and other plant supplies and verifying consignee, condition, and count before accepting or unloading.Moving coils using the overhead crane or other vehicles into the proper inventory or staged location in order that production may continue uninterrupted.Packaging coils as required, including but not limited to, banding with edge protectors, banding type, banding placement and number of bands, plastic or paper over-wrapping, etc.Operating a coil upender or coil car to fulfill packaging requirements.Staging shipments in an orderly fashion to facilitate efficient shipment of product.Forwarding paperwork to Production & Inventory Control.Ensuring proper handling / receiving procedures of any hazardous materials have been maintained in order to protect EDCOAT from liability for improper / illegal shipping or receiving of hazardous materials.Communicating information about the status of material handling equipment during shift changes.Perform housekeeping duties, as necessary.Assist in packaging of finished product as needed.Other duties as assigned.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Preferred : 1-3 years previous manufacturing experience.Preferred : forklift and / or overhead crane experience.Physical Demands
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
The ability to lift (from floor to waist level), push, and pull 50 pounds from floor.The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time on concrete surfaces with regular periods of stooping, bending, or sitting.Working Environment
EDCOAT utilizes four crews on a 2-2-3 to allow for 24 / 7 operations.A / B (Days) 4am-4pm
C / D (Nights) 4pm-4amThe schedule follows a 14-day repetitive cycle with employees working 12-hour shifts as follows : 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off.Must be able to work overtime as needed.An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed described.
