Fortune Recommends is looking to hire a senior editor with great management skills, and in-depth writing and editing experience in personal finance topics to join our team.

The senior editor will be responsible for managing one or more content verticals on our team, and should be extremely agile in handling changing priorities. They should have very well-developed editing skills, including experience editing work by freelancers and staff writers. The job requires building financial product review and ranking methodologies, and knowledge and understanding of SEO techniques is essential.

Candidates should have excellent copy-editing skills, detailed fact-checking abilities, and a dedication to creating high-quality service journalism. The position requires a broad understanding of personal finance topics such as credit cards, deposit accounts, investing and retirement, and loans and lending products.

Responsibilities : Manage one or more personal finance content verticals, including a team of freelancers and staff writers and editors.

Craft and implement content strategies that are designed to help achieve the long-term goals set for these personal finance content verticals.

Edit and fact check personal finance stories written by freelancers and staff writers with an eye to maintaining our house style and voice.

Assign stories to freelancers, and maintain relationships with a large roster of freelance writers. This may include recruiting and onboarding new freelancers.

Set and maintain best practices for the team, including style, compliance, article templates, and overall editorial process.

Build methodologies to evaluate, review, rate and rank credit cards.

Requirements : At least three years of experience managing editorial teams.

Broad knowledge of personal finance topics such as credit cards, deposit accounts, investing, and loans.

Excellent and proven writing, editing and fact-checking skills.

Demonstrated skills in SEO best practices, willingness to implement and expand SEO skills.

Extremely organized and detail-oriented, with knowledge of editorial planning and process.

Nimble and open to quick changes in strategy.

Familiarity with Asana a plus.

Compensation Range : $140,000.00 - $150,000.00
