    About The Role

    The Senior Sales Director US is responsible for overseeing all sales teams in the US. The role is accountable for hitting budgeted targets, driving performance and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Sales Director will sit on the US Management Team and lead the US Sales management team, owning the entire US sales target. The role also entails creating a fantastic culture within each team.

    The successful candidate will be a self-starter who inspires and motivates the team with high energy, builds a positive culture that rewards success, and values continuous improvement and development. This individual will consistently achieve and exceed sales results while evolving a data-driven new sales strategy to support future growth. The role requires experience leading account management and new sales teams, and ideally managing channel and partnerships.

    Responsibilities

    As a member of the US management team, build and execute a commercial sales strategy to grow revenue.

    Collaborate with colleagues across marketing, editorial, finance, tech and HR to ensure an aligned strategy.

    Handle and interpret sales performance data to inform pipeline, forecasting and strategy decisions.

    Own strategic projects arising from leadership strategy meetings.

    Forecast future sales accurately.

    Develop and implement sales processes to facilitate growth.

    Manage a team of sales managers to meet and exceed objectives.

    Manage KPIs around calls, talk time, demos booked, and pipeline production.

    Coach, mentor and embed the Brightmine sales methodology throughout the team.

    Represent the business at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and expeditions as appropriate.

    Minimum of 15 years’ experience in sales.

    Minimum of 10 years in sales management, including a proven track record managing sales teams.

    Has worked at a sales director level.

    Has managed both new business, partnerships and renewal sales teams.

    Proven track record of hitting targets and building strong team cultures.

    Background in solution sales and SAAS sales, including managing teams across the full sales span from transactional to strategic.

    Experience leading, managing and coaching a team to success.

    Willingness to travel regionally and internationally as required.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    High ethical standards and customer focus.

    Education

    Bachelors or master’s degree in a relevant subject (business, HR, law) is preferred but not essential.
