What would you do as a Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor

The Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor position at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board offers an exciting opportunity to lead within our Adult Comprehensive Outpatient Services (ACOS), where we deliver a wide range of outpatient mental health services. In this role, you will oversee Licensed Practical Nurses and support our multidisciplinary team, which includes licensed therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists, in providing care to clients facing severe mental health challenges and co-occurring substance use disorders. Your responsibilities will encompass medication management, administration of long-acting injections, and monitoring client responses to treatment.

You will also engage in client advocacy, supportive counseling, and crisis intervention while ensuring compliance with discharge standards and quality record reviews. This position emphasizes a commitment to inclusivity, sensitivity to diverse populations, and dedication to optimal client care in a collaborative, professional environment.

Would you be a great Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor?

To excel as a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, candidates must possess a minimum of one year of nursing experience with the client population. Supervisory experience is essential, enabling you to effectively lead a team of Licensed Practical Nurses and other healthcare providers. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Health Professionals is mandatory. Additionally, a valid Virginia Driver's License is required to facilitate client engagement and outreach.

Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are vital for this role, as you will be overseeing medication management, client advocacy, and fostering a supportive environment. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and a commitment to patient-centered care will further enhance your effectiveness in delivering comprehensive mental health services.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

  • One (1) year of experience providing nursing services to the client group.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Health Professionals.
